About the Yarn

Where is Wild Ram Yarn dyed?

All Wild Ram yarn is hand-dyed in small batches in Southwest Michigan. Each skein is hand-dyed, rinsed, and finished by hand, no mass production - ever.

What makes hand-dyed yarn different?

Hand-dyed yarn has natural variation in tone, depth, and saturation. That's part of its charm. No two skeins are ever exactly the same, which makes your finished piece not only come from the heart, but truly one of a kind.

Will my skeins match exactly?

Because each batch is dyed by hand, there may be slight variations between skeins, even in the same colorway. If you are working on a larger project, we recommend alternating skeins every few rows for a beautifully blended finish.

What fibers do you use?

We use high-quality, natural fibers, primarily wool and wool blends, selected for softness, durability, and stitch definition. Fiber content is always listed in the product description.

What weights can I order?

Currently, we primarily stock worsted weight, however, we are always experimenting. All available weights are listed on the product listing.

Ordering

When will my order ship?

Orders typically ship in 3 - 5 business days.

Do you offer pre-orders?

Unfortunately, we do not offer pre-orders at this time. Please subscribe to our text messages to be the first to know when new colors drop.

Can I request a custom colorway?

At this time, we do not do offer custom colorways.

Color & Care

Will the colors look exactly like the photos?

We do our best to photograph yarn accurately in natural light, but monitor settings can vary. Slight color differences may occur.

Is the yarn colorfast? Will it bleed?

All yarn is professionally heat-set and rinsed thoroughly. However, deeply saturated colors (especially reds, pinks, and purples) may release a small amount of excess dye in the first wash. This is normal.

How should I wash my finished project?

Hand wash gently in cool water with wool wash. Lay flat to dry. Natural fibers deserve kindness.

Can I machine wash it?

We always recommend hand washing.

How much is shipping?

Shipping rates are calculated at checkout based on weight and location.

Do you ship internationally?

Currently, we only ship within the United States.

Can I return yarn?

Due to the nature of hand-dyed yarn, and small batch production, all sales are final. If there is an issue with an order, please contact us within 7 days of delivery. We want happy customers and we will do our best to make it right.
